A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed
If you want to keep baby as close as you can at night, without having to get out of the bed, a crib that is placed beside your bed is the ideal solution. The breathable fabric allows you to see your baby clearly and is easy to lower if you need to feed your baby at 3am.
Some double as a moses's basket.
What is a bedside cot?
A bedside crib (also called a bassinet or co-sleeper) is a small infant cot that attaches to your adult bed, allowing your newborn to sleep safely next to you. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that doesn't increase your risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It can also help you bond with the newborn baby.
These cots often come with a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your newborn during the night for feeding and comforting. This is especially useful for mothers recovering from an op. Some are also foldable or portable, so you can bring them along on trips and use them as a temporary sleeping solution for newborns who aren't yet ready to move to a full-sized cot.
When you are looking for a bedside crib, look for a model with a breathable mattress and a protective cover to shield your infant from staining. It is also advisable to pick up some baby-safe add-ons such as a blanket and cuddly toys.
If you're looking for a longer-term solution Some cribs have conversion kits that let you transform them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is right. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition a lot easier. Some have a removable section at the top that can be transformed into the bassinet. Some can be used in conjunction with a standard adult bed or a high-rise one. This is a good choice for families that plan on frequently traveling or switching rooms during the night. You should also think about the size of your bedroom to ensure that you can squeeze the crib comfortably. A lot of cribs have a riser which can be used to create an incline to accommodate babies with reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib from the English brand Joie is a wonderful addition to their range of high-quality baby products. The idea behind the product is to help parents bond with their infants while they sleep together, without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper is packed with features that make bonding between parents and babies safe, easy and fun.
my sources of the key features is a smooth, rocking motion that can be activated with the touch of the button. This gentle rhythm can help soothe your baby to sleep without disrupting their normal sleep patterns. This is perfect for toddlers or older babies who have difficulty settling down. It can also aid with digestive issues like reflux and colic.
The crib can be locked into place once the rocking is completed to stop it from moving and can also be secured on the bed's side using clips and straps. This makes the crib solid and secure, allowing you to sleep soundly without worrying that your baby might roll off into the middle. The rounded cocoon shape has softly padded sides and two mesh windows on both sides to allow for plenty of airflow while protecting your baby.
The mattress comes with a soft and comfortable and comes with a removable cover. The aluminium frame is light and lightweight, making the crib very mobile and easy to put together. The four locking wheels are rubber-covered to ensure that the crib won't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. The crib is easy to clean with the fabric that is washable and is easily put in bags for the duration of your stay.
The TuttiBambini CoZee air
This superior model is designed to be a safe, baby-sitter from birth to 6 months. It has bars with rocking for easy mobility and castors. The deluxe airflow mattresses provide an ideal sleeping surface and ventilation panels help keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option that can help with congestion and reflux.
The Tutti Bambini COZee air crib has a removable fabric and a wipe-clean lining. This makes it easier to clean than some bedside cribs which can create a mess to clean. It also comes with an upper bar that can be easily lowered to accommodate feedings at night without having to mess with zips.
Anna found that the CoZee was a safe and comfortable place to sleep for her baby. She was delighted the fact that it didn't roll like some other models, meaning it didn't wake her up in the night when she was trying to soothe her baby for feedings. She also enjoyed that the side was lowered so she didn't have to reach out over her partner to carry the baby to feed her at night.
The CoZee comes in oak or charcoal and is a chic option for any bedroom. It's more of a designer piece than some of the other cribs we've tried, which appear quite utilitarian. It is also relatively light at 11kg, and comes with a carrying case so you can bring it on holiday or when you are moving home. You only need to purchase an waterproof sheet and a safety strap for sleeping together. The instructions and pictures are simple to follow once you open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to help parents feel connected with their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and moves through three slide positions to fit beside the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room so that the baby is always close to the parent's side. The mesh siding allows air to flow through, and allows you to see your baby easily. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large storage basket beneath.

Unlike some other smaller bedside crib options The Iora can be folded flat and comes with a travel bag which allows it to be taken wherever. It was easy to move around from room to space, and our mom testers thought it was the right size for a bedside crib. The large storage basket is ideal for storing extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great option for parents who want to sleep in a co-sleeping bed but don't want to share their bed. If one of the parents has mobility issues, such as arthritis or back pain. Our mum testers loved that they could easily access their child while in the Iora and that it had an option to have a reflux incline which helped to reduce gas.
Our mothers also love the fact that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines that state to put the infant in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets, pillows, etc). The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for babies and sheets are easy to find. It isn't as light as other smaller bedside cribs, though it is a good choice if you are looking for something lighter and easier to move around, look at other options in our list.
